I’m Guanchen Ding (丁冠辰), a Ph.D. candidate and Presidential Ph.D. Fellow in the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, supervised by Prof. Changwen Chen.

Research: My research focuses on visual semantic communication under rate and channel constraints, with particular interests in neural joint source-channel coding, generative semantic communication, task-oriented semantic communication.

Current work: I am developing SNR- and bandwidth-adaptive neural JSCC, compact structured evidence for traffic-scene reasoning, and exact-rate progressive JSCC for dense scene understanding. If you are interested in these topics, please feel free to contact me by email.

Previously: I received my Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the School of Remote Sensing and Information Engineering, Wuhan University, advised by Prof. Zhenzhong Chen. I also completed a minor degree at the School of Economics and Management, Wuhan University.
